DELVE COSTS HEREFORD A POINT
Hereford United became the first team to beat the Exeter City defence in six matches when Ian Wells scored in the 38th minute. City's goalkeeper John Shaw parried a shot from Stuart Phillips and Wells tapped the ball home from close range. Immediately after half time Shaw was called into action again when he pushed away an angled drive from Phillips.
City retaliated and Ian Rodgerson just got his foot to the ball as Brendon O'Connell tried to force his way through. Exeter drew level in the 60th minute when former City player John Delve passed straight to the lively Mark Robson who sent O'Connell clear of the home defence to shoot past the advancing Kevin Rose, who was making his 150th consecutive appearance for Hereford.
