Jackie misses soccer cup clash
EXETER LADIES FC will be without experienced defender Jackie Tancock for tomorrow's important WFA Cup second round match against Newport at Wyvern Barracks (ko 2.30).
Tancock has a bad gash on her knee from the last time the two sides met in the Women's Western League a fortnight ago and has not healed well enough to play. Exeter beat Newport 4-1 in Wales last month and are confident of improving that scoreline on their own ground.

BRIDGET CRUSHES NEWPORT
Bridget Thomas was in cracking form yesterday in Exeter Ladies FC's 7-3 win over Newport that takes them through to the third round of the Women's FA Cup.
She scored four tremendous goals as Exeter completely over-ran their Welsh visitors, who didn't managed one shot on target in the first half. Exeter's other goals came from Mandy Langman (2) and top scorer Annie Hesketh. They let their defensive concentration slip in the last quarter of an hour, however, allowing Newport to score three times.
Played in torrential rain, this turned out to be a very good performance by Exeter. Right from the off Exeter, playing a new formation, played fast and accurate football, tearing Newport's defence apart. This was a fine first half by Exeter.
The first goal came after a good move from defence to midfield, and then to Bridget, she slotted the ball away with ease. Continuing the pressure, and with a similar move, Bridget scored the second. Annie scored the third and then Bridget completed her hat-trick. Fxeter moved fluently throughout the first half and then Bridget scored her fourth goal of the match. The second half continued in the same manner and Mandy Langman made sure for Exeter with another two well-taken chances. Newport kept fighting and towards the last fifteen minutes scored three quick goals
