Match 14
23rd January 1983
League Cup 1st Round
Barry (away)

Match Report

BARRY 0 EXETER 11

Having drawn Barry in both the League and Pat Sowden Cups we travelled away to Barry, this was the first round of the League Cup and a place in the Semi-Finals. Once again our format was changed around. This time hoping to get a settled team we played each player in a familiar position and it worked well with fine play coming from all points of the field, possibly not all the moves were finished off sharp enough, but never the less on an uneven and sticky surface we did well, coming away with a fine win. Annie had a field day and took credit for 5 of the 11 goals scored. Other goals scored by Bridget 3, Ju Trott 1, Mandy Langman 1, and Debbie 1.

Exeter goalkeeper Brenda Frayne did not have a shot to save throughout the entire match as Barry rarely managed to break out of their own half
