EXETER LADIES F.C.

went out in the first round of the Pat Sowden Cup at Newport yesterday, losing 5-3 after extra time.

Exeter had battled back from behind to draw level with two goals from Penny Wilson and one from Bridget Thomas.

In extra time, Exeter suffered some unfortunate injuries, including one to 'keeper Brenda Frayne.
