Exeter LFC 2-2 Tiverton

FAVOURITES ARE HELD


Exeter Ladies F.C. held Women's Western League leaders and title favourites Tiverton Town to a 2-2 draw in a cracking game at Wyvern Barracks yesterday.

Tiverton, unbeaten in the league last season and with a 100 per cent record this term, twice fell behind but managed to level thanks to a disputed penalty and a goal- keeping error.

Both sides had their chances to take two points but a combination of poor finishing and desperate defence kept the sides level.

Penny Wilson and Bridget Thomas scored for Exeter and Tiverton's goals came from Sue Carpenter and Karen Jones.
