MATCH REPORT.

EXETER 2-1 FROME

This was the 2nd Round of the W.F.A Cup, in which we were lucky enough to be drawn at home.

Both teams found it very difficult to settle down and play reasonable football. The standard of football left alot to be desired and neither team were able to put any consistancy into their game. But Exeter battled well and worked hard to gain control of the game. It was in the 30th min of the first half when Exeter made a very quick break through Fromes defence and with a pass from Ju T. into the penalty area, Julie B. found herself at close range in front of the goal and did well to put away the ball, giving Exeter a one goal advantage. Unfortunately this was not to last for long and a pass back from our midfield, had the ball bouncing hard and high over our keepers head and into the back of our net, into the last five mins of the first half.

We began the second half slightly more positive and although we began to control the game, the standard was still lower than our capabilities. It was in the 15th min that Sarah took the ball through midfield into Frome's defence and shot at goal, this was deflected off a Frome defender and into Pemy's air space, and she headed it nicely home, to put us into the 3rd Round of the W.F.A. Cup. Although not a memorable game, we did enough to deserve a place in the next round.
