Julie sat on bench

A Change of tactics meant that 23-year-old Julie Trott of Exeter missed out on the chance to maker her international soccer debut for Wales on Sunday.

Julie, of 33, Powderham Crescent, plays on the right wing for her club, Exeter Ladies, but Welsh team manager. Sylvia Gore, decided to face a strong Scotland side without wingers

So Julie, who wore the No. 14 shirt, spent the game on the substitute's bench at Douglas Park, home of Scottish League club Hamilton Academicals.

"I was disappointed but I felt more sorry for the girls who did not even get a chance to put on a shirt," she said as she recovered from the tiring 450-mile trip home.

"It was a great experience though."

The sides drew 0-0. The winners would have gone to Hong Kong to play in a mini tournament.
