Biographical Text

Patrick McGill played for Exeter City between 1936 and 1938. He joined the club from Hearts and later played for Distillery in Belfast.

He was signed by Exeter City from Hearts, where he had made 6 first team apperances and scored once, in the summer of 1936. He immediately won a place in the City team, lining up for the opening game of the season against Notts County. In his two season stay at St James’ Park, McGill’s most successful was the first when he played the majority of his games. Although he ended the 1937-38 season in the first team, McGill was released at the end of it and signed for Irish League club, Distillery.
