GAME TO REMEMBER

EXETER v PLYMOUTH

On Sunday 7th of October 1979 Exeter Ladies entertained Plymouth Pilgrims in a league match here at Wyvern Barracks. In a good, ehtertaining match, Exeter got off to a slow start and found themselves two goals down after thirty minutes, untill BRIDGET THOMAS scored a fine goal just before half-time to make the score two goals to one in Plymouth's favour. In the second half Exeter made some tactical changes which brought Debbie Turner and Shelley Trace on to the field, from then on Exeter pressured the Plymouth goal constantly untill MANDY LANGMAN scored from thirty yards out, one of the best goals scored at Wyvern Barracks that season. The continued pressure paid off when JULIE TROTT scored the winner from a well placed corner taken by Bridget Thomas.
