Ladies 8-Goal Runaway Victory

An own goal started the game disastrously for Exmouth Town ladies when they met Exeter on Sunday. That was the only goal scored by Exmouth through- out the game in which the Exeter ladies produced a stream of goals in both halves.

Exeter's first goal at Wyvern Barracks, Exeter came from the foot of Penny Wilson. This was soon followed by Bridget Thomas who saw two openings in the Exmouth defence and put the ball at the back of the net.

The second half proved just as fruitful, with an equal number of goals being scored by Exeter.

Again Bridget Thomas and Penny Wilson scored two apiece, which put Exeter in a very strong position. Exmouth never gained momentum in this friendly match and convincingly lost to Exeter.

The only goal that Exmouth looked likely to score would have come from the foot of Exeter's defender, Vivienne Asher, but the sharp-eyed keeper spotted the rogue ball in time to leave the result at 8-0 to Exeter.
