Biographical Text
Frank Lowson played for Exeter City in 1923/1924. He joined the club from Bradford (Park Avenue) and later played for Barrow.
Frank started his career with a one-season stay at his local club Forfar Athletic before having a brief stint at Dundee ahead of moving to Bradford (Park Avenue). Having appeared for the Yorkshire League against the Irish League at Cliftonville, he made twelve first-team appearances in the Football League with his new club netting two goals.
Heading to St James’ Park in 1923, Frank made his debut against Portsmouth in September 1923 but spent most of his one campaign with City in the reserves and made just four league appearances for the first-team.
Leaving Exeter in the summer, Frank joined Barrow where he had 25 league outings (2 goals) during the 1924/25 campaign prior to turning out for Poole.
Frank died in Bradford in 1969.

I run a photo library website called Vintage Footballers. I have an image of F. Lowson of Lincoln City, taken c.1922, I'm just loading to a web page, you can see the card under the Lincoln page of the Pinnace website, card no 2411, https://pinnacecards.wordpress.com/lincoln-city/
Problem is that I have Frank Lowson's playing record and there's no evidence he ever went to Lincoln City. He was at Bradford PA and played his last game on Boxing Day 1922, then went to Exeter in August 1923.
Two questions arise: 1) Is the player in the Lincoln shirt no 2411 actually Frank Lowson or someone else? It could simply be a naming mistake. Would you have a comparison photo from a 23-24 Exeter team group? There's no doubt he's wearing a Lincoln City shirt identical to the several players all of whom played numerous games for Lincoln in 1922-23. 2) If it is Lowson, then the only explanation (and it's a tough one) is that either in January 1922 (he didn't play for Bradford PA between Dec 21 and Sept 22) he joined Lincoln (on loan?) before returning, or in January 1923 or round there he joined Lincoln, got photographed by Pinnace, but never made a first team appearance between January and August when he joined Exeter. Slightly tough to believe they'd photograph the players mid season and not pre season. I know he didn't play for Lincoln after looking at the roster of players on ENFA website but that doesn't mean he wasn't at Lincoln at some point.
Add to that there's a Yorkshire cricketer of the 1950s called Frank Lowson and it all gets a bit confusing. Can you shed any light??
