Match Day by Kirstie Bowden
I didn't make it to Cambridge, with Uni again conspiring against me. Scott made the trip however and provided us with regular updates. By all accounts City played superbly and more than deserved the three points. However, the biggest achievement that night had been successfully finding the ground. The year before this had been somewhat of a struggle...
"The journey to Cambridge was ill-fated from the start. Leaving Devon took an excessive amount of time due to an acccident on the M5 leading us to take a very slow detour through Taunton. Because of this the drivers hours ran out and we had to stop at Strensham. On leaving things started to go very wrong and the words of wisdom from Maurice "never get there" Wright began to gain prominence.
To say we got lost would be an understatement. These quotes from Marge sum the journey up - "I've seen that - cow before", "Didn't we just go around that roundabout?" and my favourite quote of the season "Christ knows where we are", Marges response to Hazel, who rung up and wanted to know where we were. We were still in good br spirits though. Well, apart from Scott who went with the 'look as if you are about to combust' option and was spouting off from the back of the bus, much to everyones Uspouting delight. Once at Cambridge we managed to get lost again, but thankfully a lovely driver noting how close it was to kick off (7.30!) escorted us to the ground. We arrived outside the ground at kick-off, which would have been fine if we hadn't had to hike through a field to get to the away end which, on arrival, had only one turnstile open.
The game was brilliant with City winning 3-1. Much to Marges delight Bertie ran the length of the away end waving his shirt above his head in celebration. Once back on the bus, after walking through a field of cows, we set off and joyously cheered as we went past the team bus. Five minutes later we cheered as we went past the team bus for the second time after, you've guessed it, getting lost. No wonder they gave us a strange look as we passed them the first time!"

Daniel Seaborne's first-half header made it five wins in seven games as he converted Dean Moxey's deep corner.
Cambridge dominated the game but struggled to convert their chances, with Mark Beesley firing wide from inside the six-yard box.
The Grecians almost doubled their advantage a minute after half-time, but Matthew Taylor's header was saved.
The home side nearly saved a point in the 73rd minute, but Lee McEvilly's header went over the bar from 12 yards.
