Match 20
13th April 2014
Forest Green Rovers (away)

Forest Green Rovers Ladies 2
Exeter City Ladies 3

Sunday 13th April 2014

After the disappointment of losing out to Southampton Saints the previous weekend, Exeter City Ladies started on the front foot on their trip to Gloucestershire to lace Forest Green Rovers

The Grecians saw a number of good chances come and go in the early stages and they were made to pay for their profligacy when Hovers took the lead on the hall hour mark with a deflected ettort And the hosts second soon followed as the City players were still trying to pick their chins up as a good counter attack set Forest Green into a 20 lead going into the break

Both sides exchanged chances at the beginning of the second half, but the game was threatening to peter out-that was until Tash Knapman, ever lively latched onto a through ball and guided a shot beyond the crushing goalkeeper to half the deficit with 20 minutes remaining

The goal visibly lifted the Exeter players and they stole the momentum in the game and Knapman s second this time from close range, levelled the game at 22 And a superb comeback was completed late on as Helen Kukor finished tidily from a tight angle,  3-2 to  Exeter at the whistle

A brilliant charismatic and characterful performance lifted Exeter to second in the table a within striking distance of league leaders Swindon Town
