BBC Match Report –
Struggling Exeter City held Carlisle to a goalless draw at St James Park.
The hosts had the better of the first half as Jake Taylor and David Noble both had chances, while Daniel Nardiello shot wide of the far post.
Exeter lost goalkeeper Artur Krysiak to injury with 10 minutes left and his replacement Lenny Pidgeley immediately made a superb stop to deny Lee Miller.
Miller missed a golden chance to snatch three points for the visitors in the last minute as he fired wide.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon:
"With every match you're going to get a different outcome and the players need to perform different things in order get a result. Today they were required to do something different and that was to keep their heads and play safe.
"We did particularly well in the second phase when balls went in the box. We got to the balls so quickly and stopped them getting shots on target.
"It was one of those games today where either side are thinking with 15 minutes to go 'we could nick this' but also thinking 'let's not give it away at the back'."
Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria:
"Our record here has not been brilliant and it's a horrendous journey.
"There's a real collectiveness as a group and in times gone by we'd have lost these types of games.
"I thought only one team was going win in it in the end and I thought that was us."
