BBC match report –

Exeter's Richard Duffy scored the only goal of the game as Huddersfield fell to a second successive league defeat.

Duffy headed the Grecians' winner from Ryan Harley's near-post corner.

The visitors thought they had doubled that lead before half time, when Troy Archibald-Henville headed home another corner but it was ruled out for a foul.

Jordan Rhodes and Scott Arfield both saw efforts come back off the crossbar for the Terriers as they went in search of an elusive equaliser.

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon:

"It was a big win for us and we certainly had to work hard for it in what was a long, long game.

"Although we weren't planning to hang on we were forced into it by their play and the players gave absolutely everything.

"I hope the fans enjoyed it because we did, we're beginning to have better away form this year and I'm glad that those that were here, were here to see it."

The Football League Youth Alliance version of the Devon Expressway Derby at Millbay Park three weeks ago finished with honours even.

Central midfielder Jack Stephens put our youngsters in front on the half-hour mark with a firm 20-yard drive into the roof of the visitors' net. Shortly afterwards, we were indebted to a goal-line clearance from left midfielder Connor Clifford to prevent a scrambled equaliser as the Grecians caused panic amongst our defence. Then, four minutes before the interval, the same player proved equally alert at the other end of the pitch, hooking a bouncing ball into net to make the score 2-0. We missed three decent chances early in the second half and paid a heavy price when the visitors' fight- back began in earnest with striker Tom Nichols netting a 55th-minute penalty. Just seven minutes later the Grecians capitalised on our failure to clear a corner, left-winger Jamie Reid netting their equaliser from close range.
