William Dymond made his Football League debut for Bristol City during the 1946-47 season, although he had signed for them in September 1945. He scored once in 8 league games.
Moving to Exeter City in June 1947, his debut for the Grecians was not until, ironically, against Bristol City, that game taking place at St James’ Park on Boxing Day 1947. William remained at Exeter for two seasons, and turned down an offer to join Yeovil Town before signing for Hereford United, then a Southern League club in the summer of 1949. Continuing to live in Exeter, he signed for Barnstaple Town in May 1951. He lived in Alphington, Exeter from 1964 and was still there in 1990.
William died in September 2004.
