BBC match report –
Ryan Harley's penalty gave Exeter victory over Swindon and extended the Robins' winless run to 17 games.
In a poor first half, a 25-yard drive from Swindon's Matt Ritchie was well saved by home goalkeeper Ben Hamer.
Exeter's Matt Taylor headed over after half-time, before a Calvin Andrew handball gave the Grecians a spot kick, which Harley converted.
Andrew had the chance to make amends, but could only fire wide to leave Swindon staring relegation in the face.
Exeter City manger Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon:
"I couldn't see it [the penalty] but all you can do is put the ball away and then defend the lead and we did that well.
"We needed it tonight, I don't really care how it came - we got our win and we worked extremely hard as a team."
Swindon Town manager Paul Hart told BBC Wiltshire:
"As good as we were on Saturday [in the 2-1 defeat by Brighton] we were poor tonight, maybe the game took a lot out of us.
"Scott Cuthbert handballed it in the penalty area, if you handball it in the area it's a penalty.
"It's the first time I've had cause to complain since I've been here and let's hope it's the last."
