BBC match report –

A Jamie Cureton brace earned Exeter victory over Leyton Orient and kept their League One play-off hopes alive.

Cureton was in the right place to slide in Daniel Nardiello's cross from six yards out inside five minutes.

Dean Cox levelled the scores with a rocket into the top corner from 25 yards and the same player struck the post before the break.

Cureton won it with his 19th goal of the season when he tapped home Richard Logan's parried shot.

Exeter moved level on points with Leyton Orient after the win but sit in ninth place, one spot below their opponents, because of an inferior goal difference.

The two sides are five points adrift of sixth-placed Bournemouth with four games remaining.

POST-MATCH REACTION

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon:

"We couldn't have started any better and we caught them cold. But then the game matched up and they woke up.

"There were times they had more possession, but as the game went on we got better and better and then of course the anxious last 10 minutes.

"I'm very proud of the players and we're ticking along nicely."

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade told BBC London 94.9:

"Our performance was patchy, I thought Exeter got out the blocks a lot better than us and they could have gone 2-0 up at that time.

"To be fair to us, we had one man on our side that was in incredible form in Dean Cox.

"It was a fantastic finish and he was so unlucky not to put us in front when it came off the post."
