BBC match report -
Exeter lost ground on the Conference pacesetters as they were held to a draw at St James Park.
The Grecians took the lead after a cagey opening quarter of an hour when Tony Scully headed home a probing Chris Todd cross in the 26th minute.
Neither side created much for the rest of the half and were reduced to harmless long-distance shots.
In the second half Karl Murray beat Exeter's Paul Jones with a superb free-kick to rescue a point.
