Steve Flack converted a Michael Gill cross after three minutes to set himself on the way to an 11-minute hat-trick as Exeter thrashed Southport.

Flack scored from six yards and followed that up with a left-foot shot on the turn after an Andy Taylor cross.

Flack completed his hat-trick with another close-range finish before Jerome Fitzgerald was red carded for a foul on Lee Phillips.

Phillips got up to score from the spot, while Paul Buckle made it 5-0 late on.
