Lee Phillips, Jamie Mackie and Jon Challinor were on target as Exeter eased past 10-man Altrincham.

Phillips headed home Billy Jones' cross after nine minutes, but Colin Little turned in the equaliser after good work by Stephen Aspinall 10 minutes later.

Mackie was on target again after 29 minutes before Altrincham's Mark Maddox was sent off for violent conduct.

Challinor added third four minutes after the break when Phillips turned provider to seal the points.
