Scarborough were relegated from the Conference after failing to get the win they needed by drawing 1-1 with Exeter.
The Seasiders drop out of the division by a point after Forest Green beat Stevenage to ensure their survival.
Following a dour encounter, the writing was on the wall for the visitors when Exeter's Jon Challinor struck from 12 yards out with five minutes remaining.
Boro, who had hit the bar through Chris Todd, pulled one back when Tony Hackworth scored but it wasn't enough.
