Match 06
11th September 1984
Wrexham (away)

Gregory boosts Wrexham.

Wrexham collected their first home win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Exeter City last night. Second half goals from David Gregory and Jim Steel were the reward for a much improved performance. Gregory was selected in a later reshuffle after recovering from an ankle injury.

Manager Bobby Roberts was quick to point out that veter were no great test-the real opposition comes with Peterborough's visit to The Racecourse on Saturday. But he was pleased with this display. "The indications are there and given a bit of luck we could really improve," he said. "There is a competitive edge about the side now and when Gregory scores a tremendous goal like that it augurs well for the future. But there is a long way to go yet. "It looked at times as though we would never score then Gregory turned the game with that great goal. I'm glad now that I decided to play him.
