But Darlington scored the winning goal in the 86th minute, City had done enough to have gained a point but it was not to be so, City took the lead in the 28th minute Barry Rowan took a corner and there was a terrible mix up in the Darlington defence which ended with Moor judging the ball and it dropped into the net. Darlington were on terms again 8 minutes later when a low Ball ran through the City defence to give Graham the easiest of chances to push it into an empty nat. Just on half time John Corr had a goal disallowed for an offside decision. JOHN RICHARDS NOT JOINING BOARD JUST YET,
John Richards one of the promotors of the Exeter Falcons Speedway' team will not be joining the Exeter City board of directors for the time being at leastIt was a month ago that the 42 year old garage owner at Bishops Lydeard near Taunton expressed an interest in joing the board. He has given it careful consideration but the pressure of business and speedway limits his time and he feels he cannot undertake a football directorship at this stageA recent accident whilst on holiday has also restricted his future plans, Richards is however still interested in becoming a City director and may try again next season,

John Wingate and Mike Balson are two Exeter City players that have been watched by clubs recently. Both are young and agressiveBoth never seem to stop working and both have hidden reserves of energy, Whether Exeter could afford to let them go is another matter, Representatives from Bournemouth and Coventry City were at last week's match against Peterborough United, One report suggested that their target was Wingate
