Alan Banks gave Exeter City a draw at Colchester United with an equalising header in the 75th minute, It was a tremendous result for exeter against promotion challengers and they deserve credit from coming from behind, in the 60th minute Crawford had put Colchester ahead, Then up popped Banks and two minutes later substitute John Corr was unlucky with a header which was cleared off the line, Colchester started strongly and it was fully 15 minutes before City threatened which resulted in a fruitless corner, Colchester had the ball in the net in the 23rd minute from a quick break but a Linesman flag was up for offside, They continued to threaten until half time but the City defence held firm, Fred Binney and Banks fought a lone battle up front,
After the initial flurry by City after the interval Crawford put Colchester in front in the 60th minute after a cross from Hall, In the 75th minute City equalised when Barry Rowan's corner was headed in by Banks, Immediately Corr was brought on for Joe Gadston and with two minutes to go Binney raced away but Smith the Colchester goalkeeper handled outside the area and had his name taken.
