Exeter City were involved in a six goal Fourth Division thriller on their visit to Peterborough United's London Road ground. With only one win and one draw away from St James Park all sason, the Grecians matched the Posh goal for goal, with the final outcome being a 3-3 draw. Alan Banks scored twice, with winger Barry Rowan adding the other City goal, the first the side had scored for six matches. The Peterborough goals came. from Tommy Robson, Peter Price, and Bobby Moss before an attendance of 5,341. This was to be the most goals that Exeter scored in an away league fixture all season.
