JERRY WILLIAMS hit a brilliant winner after being brought on by Reading 15 minutes from the end. Williams, a transfer-listed local youngster, was called up only because of a six-man injury list.
Hicks headed Reading into the lead inside five minutes, but Kellow equalised. Referee Salmon booked Reading's Lewis, Joslyn and Hetzke and Exeter's Giles for fouls. and Exeter's Delve and Pearson for dissent.
Reading boss Maurice Evans said: "We must have full-time referees."

SUBSTITUTE Jerry Williams cracked home Reading's late winner after Exeter had staged a brave fight back, In a game which saw six bookings-three a side. Reading grabbed the initiative after just five minutes.
Joslyn's free-kick on the right dropped neatly for giant centre-back Hicks to head past keeper Bond. Kellow miscued a 70th- minute cross and the floating ball deceived Reading': veteran keeper Steve Death.
