Charlton 1 Exeter 0
CHARLTON created a club record and equalled another with the win over the F.A. Cup giant-killers. It was their 28th victory in all competitions - the most they have achieved in a season - and their 16th clean sheet, which equalled the club's previous best.
Manager Mike Bailey said: "Exeter certainly made it difficult for us. But what a goal by Phil Walker!
"My only disappointment was the size of the crowd after our good performance in the Cup at Ipswich and win at Burnley." So Walker's winner volleyed close in from Powell's cross, was something special for the Third Division leaders.
With in-form defences generally shut- ting out the strikers, most of the movement was in midfield. Powell and Walker were creative for Charlton and Tydeman backed them effectively
