Biographical Text
Danny Keough played around seventy league games for Exeter City in the mid-1980s having joined the club from Manchester United. He later played semi-professionally before going into coaching.
Danny started his career at Manchester United where he spent five years playing junior and reserve team football after earning his first professional contract in February 1980.
Moving to Exeter City in October 1985, he made his Grecians debut against Hartlepool United in a 2-1 defeat at St James’ Park on 26 October 1985 as he went on to start 31 league games in his first season. Retaining his place in midfield the following season, Danny only missed six league games during the 1986/87 although - just as in his first year with the club - he failed to score.
Released in May 1987, Danny briefly signed non-contract forms for Bury and spent six years in Germany with FC80 Herborn, FC Haiger and SV Langenaubach before moving into coaching and managing with Mossley and Manchester United under-16s. He later set up a sports equipment business in Lymm, Cheshire.
