Match 30
14th February 1982
Millwall (a)

Millwall 5-1 Exeter City
14th December 1982

GIANT defender Tony Tagg earned a standing ovation from the Millwall crowd for his hat-trick in the Lion's biggest win of the season yesterday. Centre-back Tagg, who stands 6ft 3in, had only regained his place in mid-week following a four-month absence. But Tagg finished up with the match ball after scoring in the 44th, 63rd and: 70th minutes of the 5-1 win over Exeter at the Den.

Dean Horrix scored Millwall's other two goals and Peter Rogers replied for Exeter who beat Millwall 5-4 at St. James Park last October.

Nothing in reserve..

EXETER's first team beaten 5-1 at Millwall on Sunday, lost again at the Den yesterday-this time to the Londoners' reserve side! Manager Brian Godfrey played the same team, that lost on Sunday-and this time they lost the Midweek League fixture 1-0. Afterwards he put on a brave face and said: "The result did not matter. All we needed was some match practice to get Sunday's game cut of our system. "None of the players objected-I'm the boss."
