Exeter City and Wolves drew 1-1 in the qualifying round of the Freight-Rover Trophy last night after Neil Edwards had given Wolves a fourth-minute lead. The setback seemed to spur Exeter into action and Wolves' defence was put under increasing pressure. Tim Flowers was forced to make two saves as Exeter created three chances in as many minutes. But a Danny Crainie shot caused havoc and Exeter's Keith Viney as twice forced to clear off the line. Exeter continued to dominate in the secnd half with Martin Ling creating problems with runs at the Wolves' defence. But it wasn't until the 69th minute that Exeter equalised, when Jim McNichol drilled the ball home from 12 yards after a a cross from Ling.
