Starting his career at Derby County in 2007 - during which time he represented the Republic of Ireland at under-17 level - Kallum moved on Alfreton Town in 2010 before joining Exeter City later that year. 

Released in 2011 without playing a first-team game, he subsequently played for Buxton and Eastwood Town.
