Eamon Collins, of Portsmouth, and Simon Milton, of Ipswich Town, were secured by Exeter City yesterday on loan transfers, and Milton (photo) at least made an impact by obtaining a goal in each half and earning three valuable points for his new club.
In fact Milton's skilful play plus his goalscoring were the brightest aspects of this match, for although the City came out on top their performance was not without its faults. Collins, Exeter's other debutant, was bustled out of his game and seldom showed the class warranted by his reputation. Hartford, the Scottish International, was injured in a tackle as early as the fifth minute, and taken off the field, to be replaced by Scott.
