A visit to the training ground for some valuable shooting practice might be advisable for Exeter City before they undertake part two of their Easter holiday programme at Stockport on Monday. For if the Grecians had taken only a fraction of their chances today, then not just a point, but possibly three might have been theirs.

As it was Cardiff were on hand to take home the spoils of victory, improving their promotion hopes with a pair of goals in the first half from Bartlett. Exeter's best efforts, both in the first half, were from O'Connell and Taylor, the latter with a clever overhead kick which was palmed away by Wood, the old Arsenal goalkeeper.
