BBC match report –

Dwane Lee grabbed the only goal as Exeter finally found a way past 10-man Stevenage to preserve their unbeaten home record.

The visitors had Steve Watson sent off in the 42nd minute but Exeter struggled to make the breakthrough until Lee struck his first goal for the club with a 25-yard drive into the top left corner of the net.

Watson had been booked for a foul on Steve Flack when his challenge on James Coppinger earned him the red card, which was followed by three more bookings before the break as Stevenage lost their cool.

Exeter goalkeeper James Bittner did well to hold a Jamie Cook shot and keep out Dino Maamria's close-range header in the first half, while at the other end Sean Canham and Leslie Afful both went close.

Exeter struggled to create chances after the break and Peter Costello almost snatched a late equaliser but had his shot parried by Bittner.

Stevenage: Abbey, Travis, Flynn, Goodliffe, Laker, Watson, Cook, Carroll, Costello, Elding, Maamria. Subs: Perez, Langston, Baptiste, Holloway, Warner.
