Two goals from Steve Flack sent Exeter City into the Quarter finals of the F.A. Trophy with a comfortable victory over Arlesey Town. Arlesley were unable to muster any serious threat, their forward play lacking the guile or strength to upset the Exeter defence. Gary Sheldon wrapped up the tie in the final minutes, sending home the healthy 2500 crowd dreaming of cup glory. A pleased Eamonn Dolan spoke to BBC Radio Devon after the game. He said: “As disappointed as I was last week – I’m pleased this week. Not a spectacular game – not a classic game but we really worked hard. “We smothered them and we gave them nothing – and that’s against a team that scored seven goals against Dagenham and Redbridge over two games”, added Dolan. “We’ve had a horrific week this week off the pitch. I’m proud of the way the directors have fought for this club and it was so important that the players do the same today. “We’re in the quarter finals of the F.A. Trophy and we’re one place outside the play off places – all things being equal it could be a very good finish to the season for us.”
