BBC match report –
Tamworth's Paul Barnes scored twice to further dent Exeter's promotion hopes.
Marcus Ebdon played in Barnes midway through the first half, the striker slotting a low shot past James Bittner.
And the Tamworth two linked up for a carbon copy goal four minutes into the second half to all but consign Exeter to their third straight defeat.
Grecians substitute Leslie Afful pulled one back in injury time but it came too late to change the course of the game, and possibly Exeter's season.
