Despite not having played a competitive game for eight weeks, loan signing Gavin Worboys makes a scoring debut for Exeter City as the Grecians are knocked out of the Autoglass Trophy by Swansea City at The Vetch. Worboys flicks home a comer to give Exeter the lead in the 56th minute, only for a former City player Andy Cook to equalise eight minutes later following a miskick by Kenny Veysey after Scott Daniels had played the ball back to him The tie goes into extra time and Jason Bowen nets the winner for the Swans in the 113th minute. This was only the second defeat that Exeter City had suffered in ten league and cup matches
