Exeter City's match at Hartlepool United's Victoria Ground goes ahead, despite a whole host of postpone- ments throughout the Football League. The Grecians at last break their long run without a win as goals from new men Mark Cooper and Nicky Morgan give them a 2-1 victory. With Hartlepool also down among the relegation candidates, this was a vitally important three points for the City. They even missed a first half penalty taken by Scott Daniels in the 12th minute, as do Hartlepool 16 minutes later.
Cooper opened the scoring after 27 minutes, and Morgan made it 2-0 less than minute after the interval. McGuckin reduced the arrears for Hartlepool in the 56th minute, and despite some pressure from the home side in the closing stages of the contest, the City hold on for a very wel- come victory. Loan signing David Adekola from Bury makes his debut for the Grecians as a second half substitute. The match is watched by a crowd of just 1,695.
HARTLEPOOL UNITED: Jones, Southall, Lynch (MacPhail), Olsson, McGuckin, Gilchrist, Houchen, Honour, Halliday (West). Thompson, Wratten,

- Meanwhile back in Devon, both the 'A' team and Under 17 fixtures fall victim to the weather. Anxious glances are made at the weather forecast for the next few days with Wednesday evenings Devon derby against Plymouth Argyle due to take place at St James Park.
