In a match described as being of "Mega importance" against Second Division strugglers Huddersfield Town, the Grecians lose 3-2 at the Park in disappointing fashion. The second half per- formance is described by manager Terry Cooper as the worst he has seen. Leading 2-1 at the interval thanks to goals from Mark Cooper, (from the penalty spot), and Nicky Morgan, Huddersfield grab two sec- ond half goals to send City deeper into relegation trou- ble. Cooper now has three goals in three matches.

- Ambitious plans are revealed for the building of a new 3,600 all seater grandstand at the Big Bank end of St James Park. This would include new social club, offices, and a leisure com- plex. City Chairman Ivor Doble said; "I would like to think we could start building in the close season. It would probably take three months to get the seating done, and six months to complete the project." The plans are drawn up by the same archi- tects who designed the new facilities at Torquay United. A meeting is arranged with Exeter City Councillors on 7th March to discuss the pro- posals. The City Chairman adds; "We are very hopeful that the planners will be as excited about the project as we are. They know as well as anybody how desperate we are for a development of this type."
