Another setback in the fight to avoid relegation to the Third Division as Brighton and Hove Albion draw 1-1 at St James Park. City trail 1-0 at the break to a Kurt Nogan goal, after an atrocious opening 45 minutes, during which time Kenny Veysey also saves a penalty. Nicky Morgan (photo) equalises in the 54th minute, but despite an improved performance and creating several chances, the Grecians are unable to find the winning goal that they so desparately wanted. David Mehew makes his debut replacing Richard Pears as a second half substitute.
EXETER CITY: Kenny Veysey, David Llewellyn, Toby Redwood, Mark Cooper, Jon Brown, Richard Pears (David Mehew), Stuart Storer, Russell Coughlin (Scott Daniels), Robbie Turner, Nicky Morgan, Mark Gavin.
BRIGHTON: Nicky Rust, Stuart Munday, Colin Pates, Dean Wilkins, Steve Foster, Paul McCarthy, John Crumplin (Andy Kennedy), Paul Dickov, Kurt Nogan, Robert Codner, lan Chapman.
- The City 'A' team win 6-0 against Beer Albion in the Devon and Exeter Premier League at the Cat and Fiddle, and the Under 18s are also 4-1 victors in their home match with Torquay United in the Westcountry Television South West Counties Youth League.
