Match 06
29th August 1995
Cardiff C (a)

TUESDAY 29th AUGUST 1995
THIRD DIVISION
CARDIFF CITY O EXETER CITY 1

A superbly taken goal by Richard Pears after just four minutes was enough to secure Exeter City's first away win of the season. Despite having to soak up a good deal of pressure, particularly in the second hat the Grecians could have taken a 2-0 lead after 24 minutes when a volley from Mark Cooper struck the Cardiff crossbar.

The goal that secured the points was a result of a move down the right between Neil Parsley and Mark Chamberlain with the latter whipping in a cross which was meatly headed home by Pears. First year professional Matthew Hare made his Football League debut when he played throughout the second half as substitute for the injured Mark Came. The City defence was once again well marshalled by Noel Blake
