Another Third Division clean sheet for City, their fifth in a row, as they worked and batted to obtain à point from their trip to Northampton, thus holding on to their sixth spot in the League table. In what has already become a familiar pattem of play this season, City contained and frustrated Northampton, who only once managed to breakthrough when a shot cannoned off the post. City's five man defonce were once again in superb form and matched anything that the home side threw at them. It was the first occasion that Northampton had failed to score this season.

City's only spell of attacking pressure of any note came in the second half when Mark Cooper forced the keeper to tum his cross- come-shot over the bar, and on Richard Pears had a shot defined
