Match 09
12th September 1995
Cambridge U (a)
TUESDAY 13th SEPTEMBER
ENDSLEIGH THIRD DIVISION
CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1
EXETER CITY 1
H ad Exeter City conceded a goal as late as the 85th minute last season, then it would have been all over for the Grecians, but not this season. The players believe in themselves. the confidence is high they stuck at the task in hand, and were rewarded with a last minute equaliser from Robbie Turner. The result sent City up to fifth place in the table
Exeter didn't rely totally on their rock solid defence as they have done in past away fixtures, and with wingers Martin Phillips and Mark Chamberlan causing problems down the flanks, looked more than capable of taking the lead themselves before the interval
Cambridge were a useful side playing neat football, but they had to wait until five minutes from time before they eventually breached the City defence. Butler, who had been a constant threat throughout the evening, chipped the ball over Peter Fox to give his side the lead. Turner was immediately summoned off the bench in an effort to try and salvage something, and he duly did the trick. Neil Parsley sent over a cross from the left and Turner ran in at the far side of the area to nod past
Barrett.
