Match 13
7th October 1995
Barnet (a)

SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER 1995.

ENDSLEIGH LEAGUE 3rd Division

BARNET 3
EXETER CITY 2

The Grecians slipped to a second successive away defeat at the sloping Underhil as Barnet registered only their second victory of the season. City had almost all the play in the first half but failed to turn their superiority into goals. Playing uphill, Barnet mace the most of their few chances and scored twice to give a somewhat false scoreline at the half-time break. Sean Devine netted the first after 7 minutes and this was followed by goal number two from Alex Dyer in the 28th minute

It was a different story in the second half though, as Barnet won the honours and put City under pressure. Had their shooting been more accurate then the outcome could have been a lot more conclusive. As it was, City were gifted a goal back in the 78th minute when Robbie Turner, pushed up front for the second halt, prodded the ball home after the Barnet goalkeeper had made a hash of a Martin Philips cross Bamet's third goal really finished City off, with Mark Cooper scoring

in the 85th minute To City's credit they once again showed that they are not a beaten team until the final whistle is blown and they gained a second goal for their efforts when a totally unmarked Turner drove the bal home with two minutes remaining. Turner could have damed a hat-trick and perhaps a share of the points for the Grecians earlier in the halt had he scored instead of forcing into a double close range save
