Match 14
14th October 1995
Wigan Athletic (h)
SATURDAY 14th OCTOBER
ENDSLEIGH LEAGUE 3rd DIVISION
EXETER CITY 0
WIGAN ATHLETIC 4
The Grecians crashed to their heaviest home defeat of the season with supporters seeing a repeat performance of last terms horrendous defensive frailties Wigan's Spanish connection of Isidro Diaz, Roberto Martinez and Jesus Seba helped tear holes in a City defence during the second half, creating gaps big enough to drive a double decker bus through. Exeter had made a very cautious start, and the opening 30 minutes were forgettable as far as both sides were concerned. Then a long kick from keeper Simon Farmworth bounced into the Exeter penalty area and with Peter Fox seemingly comfortably in control of the
situation, Gary Rice poked the bal away from him and Diaz slotted it into an empty net
The second half started disastrously for City as Wigan went 2-0 in front after 48 minutes, Seba finding space and time to send a shot into the corner of the net. Leonard headed in number three after Diaz had taken advantage of the fact that Neil Parsley was off the field injured in the 55th minute Wigan couldn't believe it when they netted a fourth with six minutes of the match remaining, and once again it was Seba who deftly slotted the ball home
