Match 24
2nd December 1996
Doncaster R (a)

SATURDAY 2nd DECEMBER 1995.

ENDSLEIGH LEAGUE DIVISION 3

DONCASTER ROVERS 2
EXETER CITY 0.

Exeter City extended their goalless rum to tive matches at fog shrouded Belle Vue where it proved to be impossible to see one end of the ground from the other. However City can count themselves to be desperately unlucky not to have scored, and indeed could have gone on to win the game as they looked the better and more dangerous side during several periods of the 90 minutes.

Lee Bradbury, signed on loan from Portsmouth, made his Grecians debut, and showed he will become a good signing City gave a spirited showing and surely it would be only a matter of time before they register that elusive win

Mickey Ross twice went close to opening City's account in the first half, whilst Darren Hughes thumped a 40th minute header against the crossbar With Peter Fox hardly troubled in the City goal, Doncaster then snatched an undeserved 45th minute lead when Gary Brabin ficked the ball into the net.

It was Ross again who almost scored the equaliser in the 58th minute, only to be denied by a fine David Wiliams save Graeme Jones then provided an object lesson in chance taking following a breakaway move after 74 minutes. Substitute Mike Cecere almost reduced the arrears moments later, but despite all their good play City could not find the finishing touch.
