Match 25
9th December 1995
Leyton Orient (a)

SATURDAY 9th DECEMBER 1995.

ENDSLEIGH LEAGUE DIVISION 3.

LEYTON ORIENT 0
EXETER CITY 3.

At last! The Grecians ended their barren run of results with a super show at Brisbane Road, eaming the three points thanks to kan signings Lee Bradbury, who scored twice and Mickey Ross who netted once.

All aspects of City's play came together, and for the first time in several games, they also took their chances. Although Ross will be wondering how he missed from three yards in the first half!

From the moment that Paul Bucke sent in a 30 yard drive, tipped to safety by keeper Ron Fearon, City signalled their intentions of ending their 14 match winless run. Mark Gavin, who was in outstanding form, sent Bradbury racing through the Orient defence, he squared the ball to Ross, who put the Grecians 1-0 in front after 20 minutes.

Gavin again set up goal number two in the 36th minute. A delightfully weighted pass found Bradbury who coolly slotted into the bottom corner for his first ever goal in League football

Orient struggled to find their attacking flair throughout the opening 45 minutes, although they were almost gifted a goal when Noel Blake turned a Glenn Cockerill header against his own crossbar. They were not a lot better in the second half, with Peter Fox only once being called upon to make a save of any note when he dived at the fest of Colin West.

City were in no mood to surrender their lead and it was left to Bradbury to put the icing on the cake with his second and the teams third goal of the aftemoon. Gavin's cross found Bradbury in space 12 yards out and he turned neatly to fire home past the keeper. A great afternoon for the traveling supporters who were left wondering whether this would be the turning point of a season which had began so promisingly only to fall away in recent weeks.
