BBC match report –
Two goals from substitute Renier Moor and one from Carl Pettefer gave Exeter a a merited 3-0 win over fellow strugglers Boston.
Exeter's first away win for more than two months hoisted them out of the bottom three, leapfrogging Boston in the process.
The Grecians were expertly led from the front by Steve Flack, while James Coppinger and Martin Thomas had too much guile for Boston in midfield.
Exeter began turning superiority into goals on 36 minutes when Pettefer got on the end of an Andy Roscoe cross and his shot took a decisive deflection off home defender Matt Hocking.
The second came nine minutes into the second half when Moor slid in to convert a Flack cross.
And the substitute completed the rout in the 81st minute with a clever lob.
Boston offered little in reply with City goalkeeper Kevin Miller having to make just one save - denying Ross Weatherstone on 74 minutes.
