BBC match report –

Exeter almost became the latest Football League club to be knocked out of the FA Cup after being held to a goalless draw at Forest Green Rovers.

The Conference side pushed Exeter all the way but had to settle for a replay after failing to break the deadlock in a scrappy first-round tie.

Rovers striker Kayode Odejayi caused problems for the Exeter defence.

And he and should have given the hosts an early lead when his powerful run left him with only Kevin Miller to beat, but the goalkeeper did well to block the shot.

Steve Flack went close for the Grecians just before half-time when he rose highest to meet Carl Pettefer's cross from the right but headed wide.

Rovers striker Alex Meechan had the best chance of the second half but saw his shot blocked.

Forest Green: Perrin, Coupe, Darren Jones, Richardson, Lee Russell, Matthew Russell, Owers, Foster, Sykes, Meechan, Odejayi. Subs: Shuttlewood, McLoughlin, Futcher, Grayson, Allen.

Exeter: Miller, Hiley, Gaia, Pilkington, McConnell, Pettefer, Cronin, Thomas, Roscoe, Moor, Flack. Subs: Fraser, Curran, Walker, Sheldon, McCarthy.
